Design Philosophy.
Design is how we communicate, whether it is the letters that make up a word or an image we see on a sign. These images surround us daily and the ones we see in a gallery are just as important and powerful as the images we see on every street sign, billboard, and window display. People are influenced by what they see, whether it is a painting, photograph, drawing or design. This is an incredible power that design possesses.
I design images that are influenced by all of the aspects of my life. I pull ideas from the world around me; all to create something I can call my own design.
Design adapts and adjusts to the social times but it can also influence social change. This is why design is powerful. It is a stealthy component in our society; design is arts’ quick ticket into the fast pace social world. The simplicity of the original design is what catches our eye, and good design makes you stop and think about it. It has the ability to make a statement with a simple image. Design is a versatile creature, it can be humorous, serious, clever, plain, and anything the designer thinks up. This is why I design.
As a designer, I create images that pull from all of my artistic experiences. My design will always reflect a part of me, my experience in art and life.
